Most Affordable Scooters On Sale
- TVS XL 100 BS6 (INR 40,990 onwards)
The TVS XL 100 follows a simple design. It has a 100cc engine, which was a two-stroker earlier, a kick start and a 5-litre fuel tank. It’s the only moped on sale in India, and at the price, the only fuel-injected two-wheeler you can buy. The XL 100 BS6 uses 16-inch tyres for both wheels. The tyres are tubed to keep the costs low considering the XL100 is aimed at the delivery market.
- TVS Scooty Pep+ (INR 53,000 onwards)
The TVS Scooty Pep+ is a gearless scooter with funky graphics and an engine derived from the TVS XL 100. Targeted at first-time motorists and the younger folk, the TVS Scooty Pep+ is a light, nimble machine. The latest updates include the addition of a USB charger, LED DRLs and a lowered seat height of 768 mm. The Pep+ uses 90/90-10 tyres on both wheels. Hero Pleasure (INR 57,000 onwards)
The Hero Pleasure is powered by a 110-cc, four-stroke engine linked to a continuously variable transmission. This gives it a smooth performance, making it ideal for seniors. The scooter features a wider footboard which improves riding comfort. The Hero Pleasure BS6 has sold over 100 million since launch. The scooter uses 10-inch tyres with a 90/100 53J rating for both wheels. The Hero Pleasure uses tubeless tyres to improve ride quality.
- TVS Jupiter BS6 (INR 65,000 onwards)
The TVS Jupiter is the second best-selling scooter in the country. The powerplant is a 110-cc engine that makes 7.3 bhp of max power and 8.4 Nm of max torque. The Jupiter BS6 features a semi-digital instrument cluster, telescopic suspension and LED lighting. The tyres are 12-inch, with a 90/90 profile. The larger tyres make for a better ride.
- Honda Activa 6G (INR 66,000 onwards)
The Honda Activa 6G recently crossed the 2.5 crore sales mark, making it one of the largest selling two-wheelers in the world. It has a 109-cc four-stroke engine that makes 8 bhp and is one of the few that offers adjustable suspension. The Activa uses 10-inch tyres with a 90/100 53J rating for both wheels. The tyres are tubeless but the rims are reinforced because Honda Activa scooters are used for everything from school runs to grocery deliveries.
